20.05.2008 : In Kyrgyzstan works a programm on elimanting of elder generation – declared on press-conference chairman of Public Union of veterans of labor Valentina Jiteneva.

According to her with every year old people hardly survive. Especially living standarts decreased last 2 years because of constant rise in prices for food, medicine and public utilities.

Today bread with the weight 300 gr costs 13 som (30 cents), 1 litre of milk 30 soms (about $1).  So, according to our calculation in one day old people needs 43 soms for food, in one month 1 290 soms. In our country 64% of old people get pension less than 1 200 soms. So 64% of old people even cannot by  bread and milk, - says valentina Jiteneva.

As she noticed, according to data of National statistics committee  minimal consumer wants on January 1 of 2007 was equal to 2 459 soms. Today it is much higher. “in basket of goods considered only most nesecarry things, which need person to live. So, our pensioners are doomed to dying out... ”,- says Jiteneva.
