revolution destroys the rests of  independent mass media. Court has obliged to
collect from newspapers "Alibi" and "De-facto" 1 million soms from each in
favour of the nephew of the President
The judge of  Pervomaisy district court of Bishkek Madina Davletbaeva today, on
June, 2nd, 2008, born a decision under the claim of the nephew of President
Asylbek Saliev,  for protection of honour to newspapers "De-facto"  and
"Alibi".
According to the decision of court, in favour of A.Saliev as a moral
indemnification will be collected 1 one million soms  from each newspaper. Also
these newspapers should publish refutations in 30 days, that data in articles
from January, 23rd and 24, 2008 "will Asylbek Saliev be called to criminal
liability?" about A.Saliev's participation in road incident with a fatal
outcome mismatch the validity.
Besides from the journalist of  "Alibi" Urmat Imanaliev,  being the author of
article  about A.Saliev, in favour of the claimant court collects 3 thousand
soms. We shall remind, that under A.Saliev's claim was demanded from newspapers
the compensation at a rate of 1 million soms from each and from the journalists
- 500 thousand soms.
The counterclaim of the newspaper "Alibi" to A.Saliev about protection of
business reputation and indemnification of moral harm was rejected.
These mass-media on December, 24th, 2007 and on January, 23rd, 2008 have
published articles under heading «will  son of  Zhanybek Bakiev be called to
criminal liability?», where it was informed, that ostensibly Asylbek Saliev
knocked down the pedestrian in Bishkek at night and has disappeared from a
place of accident. And investigation on the given case is delayed because the
suspected in this road accident is the relative of the current head of the
state. After almost 3 months of hearings on the given case, judge Madina
Davletbaeva to please a regime, has satisfied the requirement of claimant
Asylbek Saliev to these two editions.  Both editions are obliged within 30 days
after coming into force of a verdict to publish a refutation as inappropriate to
the validity on the same pages where the material has been placed. Both editions
also are sentenced to payment of  one million soms each  as indemnification of
for moral damage.  « It is the political order. We think,  that the true
purpose - is to achieve closing of oppositional newspapers. And we will protest
the given decision », - has declared right after sessions the editor-in-chief of
the newspaper «Da-facto» Cholpon Orozbekova.
To have totally dependent judicial system, Bakiev recently has appointed as a
chairman of Supreme Court Alieva Zhanyl and Svetlana Sydykova as chairman of
Constitutional Court,  both of them are devoted to Bakiev people.
