Dispersal of the people who are holding a meeting
- About 500 opponents of development of deposits "Djerui" today, on May 26, 2007 have blocked the motorway to the Prime minister of KR Almazbek Atambaev for his departure from Talas area.
A.Atambaev today with working trip has visited Talas area to familiarize with a situation which has arisen around of development of the deposits "Andash" and "Djerui".
As informs sources during A.Atambaev's visit informed inhabitants of Talas that "Djerui" will continue the work on Monday, on May 28, and deposit "Andash" will close until the contract design will be modified in view of remarks of public - ecological examination.
Inhabitants of Talas have positively apprehended the decision on deposit "Andash", however have demanded to stop development of "Djerui". Prime-minister A.Atambaev has given up to them, having informed, that it was the decision of the Government of Kyrghyzstan.
For the answer in area of village "Manas" of a motorway "Bishkek - Talas" has gathered about 500 talasees who did not allow the Prime-minister to leave the region. On that place arrived about 100 employees of militia who, having applied physical strength concerning participants, promoted opening of a motorway. The cartage of the Prime minister could pass, and at present the motorway is open. Victims in incident on the preliminary data are not presented.
It is necessary to note, 2-days ago, Government has entrusted law enforcement bodies, in case of blocking roads and infringement of a social order, to render participants of illegal actions rigid force repulse. Also on the concluding of the incident it has been declared, that organizers of the action will be responsible for infringement of a social order in the order of established by the law.
For the given time messages act, that the militia has arrested most active workers of organizers of the protest.
The information; Inhabitants of Talas already some months are protesting with the requirement to close the development of deposits "Djerui" and "Andash" and still the government is concerned tolerantly to actions of the people who are holding a meeting.
It is now specified the names of arrested people and there are cases of a victim among people who are holding a meeting in result of using
forces.
