On December 25 director of south TV channel “September” Asylbek Tekebaev was
summoned to Suzak RDIA.
He is accused of crime under article 234 of Criminal Code that is “hooliganism”.
He and witnesses of happened are not agree with this accusation. So on December
25 he was summoned to RDIA. On December 5 inter-district court of Zhalalabad
born a decision according to which land site on which is located the TV tower
of channel “September” was recognized as illegally given and that is why the
tower should be moved. According to head of investigation department of militia
in the area Muhamed Mamashev, Tekebaev twice ignored the official summons. When
militiamen and court officer came to fulfill the decision of court they faced
opposition:

- on December 5 of 2007, court officers wrote application to militia. At the
same day we registered it in registration book, under article 204 part 3 “using
of fire-arms” concerning Tekebaev Asylbek was opened criminal case and at
present time we spend investigation on it.
The head of regional service of court officers Tilek Batyrbekov addressed to
militia with application about calling to responsibility the director of TV
channel. According to him Tekebaev threatened him during phone conversation and
when he came to land site where the TV tower is located he shot in the air:
- we tried to explain him that the reason of our visit is decision of court, but
he trying to threaten us shot in the air 4-5 times. When we asked him to read
and sign the execution paper of court but he started to use foul language and
threatened us that he will shot all of us.
But militiamen and court officers came to this land site and switched off the
electricity of tower before the decision of court. They did not represent
themselves. Asylbek Tekebaev said that their statements are false and that he
was interrogated in militia during 7 hours without any breaks and that it will
continue tomorrow:
- I only asked them to show me the decision of court. They can act legally only
if the decision came into force. I did not use foul language and shot. Except
for me there were about 30 persons they can prove it.
At the place of happened were about 60 person. Among them was Aibek Sultankulov.
He asserts that Tekebaev did not act criminally. The authority is trying to
close TV channel that always criticizes its work. They break the rights of
people to freely receive information:
- they accuse them on political grounds. To make TV channel silence. This is the
main reason.
Employee of TV channel Kalybek Alkiev informed that to protect the channel and
its director they will use legal ways.
