| 06.01.2006 In Uzbekistan close the Internet-cafe. To whom is it necessary? - In total half a year local journalists could use the free-of-charge Internet which gave OSCE. It was the huge help. We have been assured, that at any moment we can come there and find the information interesting us. In fact now we are not yet at such level, when at each journalist would be at home a computer and an easy access to the Internet. Under the project of OSCE in Uzbekistan function such three Internet-cafe for journalists: in Tashkent, Nukus and Samarkand. All of them have been registered at the certain nongovernmental organizations. Samarkand Internet of-cafe, for example, has been registered at the Samarkand branch of the national press centre. According to the head of this press centre Toshpulat Rahmatullaev, the work of Internet-cafe should be stopped temporarily in connection with self-liquidation of the organization. Last months in Uzbekistan have stopped the activity set of the nongovernmental organizations, including at what operated the Internet-cafe for journalists. Under messages of news agencies, all the Internet-cafe which were supported by the Organization on safety and cooperation in Europe, have temporarily suspended the activity. |
