The Bishkek public prosecutor warns journalists against the publications discrediting honour and  dignity of President of Kyrgyz Republic.

Bishkek  (Agency «AKI press) - the Public prosecutor of city of Bishkek  Uchkun  Karimov at press conference in agency «AKIpress» on January, 12th, 2006 has warned journalists about the responsibility at the publication of the unchecked and slanderous information, mentioning honour and dignity  of President of Kyrgyz Republic.  

According to U.Karimov, " recently in some mass-media have been published a number of clauses where the doubtful data have been widespread, frequently having slanderous character concerning Kurmanbek Bakiev, mentioning his honour and dignity, and also undermining reputation ".

As examples, Karimov has mentioned the following facts:

In October, 2005 Office of Public Prosecutor of Pervomai areaof  Bishkek was pronounced act of public prosecutor's reaction in the form of caution, concerning doctor Kubanychbek Apasov which before mass-media has accused K.Bakiev of corruption and the organizations of murders of deputies of Jogorku Kenesh Jyrgalbek Surabaldiev and Bayaman Erkinbaev.  

On December, 27th, 2005 Office of Public Prosecutor of Pervomai area has pronounced caution to deputy of Jogorku Kenesh Kabai Karabekov for interview to the newspaper "Litsa". In clause “all country supports "Pyramid" and to go against the country - madness ", the Office of Public Prosecutor has seen in K.Karabekov's words charges,   concerning K.Bakiev in corruption and abusing authority.

On January, 11th, 2006 pronounced a caution to the former governor of the Osh area Anvar Artykov,  who in interview to the newspaper "Litsa" from December, 27th, 2005 has accused the President of corruption offences and kindling interethnic difference.
Also on January, 11th was pronounced caution to the editor-in-chief of  newspaper "Litsa"  Bermet Bukasheva for an assumption of publications in the newspaper, discrediting honour and  dignity of President  of Kyrgyz Republic.

Public prosecutor's caution has received also acting editor-in-chief of the newspaper " the Komsomol truth in Kyrgyzstan " Alexander Kulinsky on January, 11th. According to U.Karimov, in clause " Kyrgyzstan after "tulip revolution",  in issue of the newspaper from January, 6th, 2006 have been stated the data mismatching the validity. In particular referring to an estimation of unknown Kyrgyzstan experts it is published, that in Kyrgyzstan a high level of corruption, underworld  is intertwine with authority, authorities stay idle, " Kyrgyzstan the country of corruption and bribery ".

The public prosecutor has declared, that all the listed charges published in mass-media, " are proofless, groundless and are not supported by any proofs ".

According to U.Karimov, according to the law " About guarantees of action of President of Kyrgyz Republic  "in case if acts of public prosecutor's reaction have not worked, i.e. in mass-media will proceed publication of  such clauses,  General public prosecutor has a right to address in court on behalf of President of Kyrgyz Republic.

Under clause "Slander" of Criminal code of Kyrgyz Republic, is stipulated punishment from the penalty at a rate of 100 minimal salaries till 3 years of imprisonment.
