48 prisoners have died in the first half-year 2006 in prisons of Tadjikistan. The reason of their death became a tuberculosis and cardiovascular diseases. About it to correspondent of IA REGNUM <http://www.regnum.ru/> was informed by deputy head of Management of corrective affairs of Ministry of Justice RT Bahrom Abdulhakov. At press conference which has passed on July, 24, Minister of Justice Halifabobo Hamidov has informed journalists, that for today more than 1400 prisoners in Tadjikistan suffer a tuberculosis. Answering questions of journalists on political prisoners, minister has declared, that in Tadjikistan there are no political prisoners and political prosecution. " We have concrete structure of a crime for which fulfilment all citizens bear the identical responsibility ", - has told Hamidov.
According to minister, now in prisons there is more than 12 thousand prisoners, including 500 women and more than 90 minors. For one made from the state it is allocated 1 somoni 51 diram ($0,44) per day. Besides according to minister, in many colonies there are part-time farms.
Answering a question of the journalist why in spite of the fact that courts already for a long time have born a verdict concerning the leader of Tadjik democrats Mahmadruzi Iskandarov and former minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tadjikistan Yakub Salimov, they till now contain in Investigatory Insulator of Ministry of Justice, Hamidov has answered: " Investigatory bodies till now in addition investigate some circumstances of the crimes accomplished by these persons and consequently the decision to leave Iskandarov and Salimov up to the end of investigation under guards in Investogatory Insulator" is accepted.
