Omurbek Tekebaev: persecutions are arriving from different directions.

In the new constitution the norm about elections under party lists is stipulated. With its introduction it seemed to be activated an activity of political parties. Just at this time the political party « Ata-Meken » declares that pressure has amplified on the part of authorities. Chairman of party Omurbek Tekebaev has told about it in the interview of the radio " Azattyk ".

- One of the members of your party, Bakyt Kalpetov has been arrested in the beginning of this week. He was accused of beating the assistant of the head of the State teleradio company Beishenbek Bekeshov. You have declared that this accusation is groundlessly. Where was Bakyt Kalpetov when Bekeshov was being beaten?

- Bekeshov was not beaten. Most likely it was an accident. And to say that Bakyt has beaten Bekeshov therefore the second one has black circles under the eyes. All of us saw it, it was seen by all who stood there. At night from the eighth on the ninth, organizers of antimeeting shot at Bakyt Kalpetov from a pistol, have selected away from him the banner of a party « Ata-Meken», and scoffed at him shooting on the ground under his feet, trying to frighten him. Notwithstanding that he has submitted the statement on this occasion, it was not accepted by any measures instead of punishing those who threatened with the weapon, were involved under clause of "Hooliganism", Kalpetov was taken away to isolation ward for time maintaince of SNS, going to be engaged in investigation of this affair, as if he is being accused of the terrorism. It contradicts our laws. It is an accident which is necessary to investigate as it follows. Whether there was a hooliganism or not it is necessary to confirm. Even if it will be proven as true, this case is not included into competence of SNS. This case is open not concerning those who has beaten, intimidating the members of a party « Ata-Meken », not those who have crushed property of a party, and on the contrary criminal case have been opened against members of a party. I think it is prosecution of political opponents. As some deputies, relatives of deputies who participated in meeting also declare that are exposed to persecutions, orders on dismissal from work are issued, specially search for pretexts for dismissal. It speaks about that the authority thinks one-sidedly, that it lives in the afternoon, that it is mistaken thinking that is possible to threat people to be silent. Local offices of a party are under pressure, they are not given a room for holding conferences. In Bishkek, at the theatre of an opera and ballet has passed a congress, the authority strongly tried not to admit it. In spite of the fact that they have forbidden to give building, director of the theatre has signed with us the agreement. On the basis of this agreement we have carried out the congress. Yesterday director of the theatre has been dismissed for the unknown reasons. Only this can confirm that the prosecution is everywhere, at all levels.

- On "Azattyk" you directly spoke about the ideas, and have you spoke about it at the national mass-media?

- Unfortunately, the state mass-media have remained same one-sided as during Akaev time, also have remained under submission of authority. You probably saw that on the State TV, practically all the time it is spoken that it is necessary to get rid of this or that deputy, politics, it is necessary to clean their eyes. It is direct confirmation of that KTR became the instrument in hands of the authority. Here I should note that, Djalalabad radio " September " is being the supporter of a party « Ata-Meken » also has fallen for a victim to an attack, its property has been crushed. The same attacks were made on "Pyramida" and NTS. It becomes law.



The party « Ata-Meken » declares protest action.

The member of a party « Ata-Meken » Bakyt Kalpetov, since yesterday is in the isolation ward for temporary maintaince of SNS. He has been accused of beating up the vice-president of KTR Beishenbek Bekeshov, and has been detained by employees of Lenin Regional Department of Internal Affairs. The party « Ata-Meken » marks that Kalpetov's business is not included into the competence of consideration of SNS and regards the given actions as prosecutions on the part of authorities. Members of a party have declared the solidarity with one party and political hunger-strike. Bakyt Kalpetov is accused of hooliganism. In the statement which was distributed yesterday with a party, it is underlined that, notwithstanding what, according to the new organic law, the Office of Public Prosecutor has no right to give out sanctions on arrest, yesterday the Lenin regional Office of Public Prosecutor has given out the sanction on Kalpetov's arrest. This day Bakyt Kalpetov was taken away by the employees of SNS. According to his lawyer Rajymkul uulu Kasymbek, he is not allowed to meet with Kalpetov:

- Since morning I am in the reception of SNS. I am not allowed to meet my client. I am not being informed starting from yesterday 6 pm when he was taken away.

According to the lawyer, Bakyt Kalpetov, has declared hunger-strike yesterday from 3pm in the afternoon:

- There was no opportunity to receive the information concerning this occasion in SNS.

Party « Ata-Meken » value the maintenance of Kalpetov in SNS as a political prosecution. The coordinator of a party on the city of Bishkek, Raikan Tologonov has declared to the radio " Azattyk " that if Kalpetov will not be released till November 25, in all areas of Kyrghyzstan, members of a party « Ata-Meken » will begin a political hunger-strike:

- We are receiving calls from one sided partys from Osh, Batken, Djalalabad and other areas. With tomorrow's day set of people will begin a political hunger-strike in a sign for approval of Bakyt. And we shall leave for the days off on meeting of the protest. Zamira Kojobaeva, Bishkek



The authority spends various checks in connection with my political activity.

About it today informed to the radio " Azattyk ", the member of movement « For reforms! » )Omurbek Abdrahmanov. As he said at the very first meeting with the president Bakiev, the condition has been put, to leave the opposition. But as the businessman has refused this requirement, he is being visited constantly by the employees of tax inspection and financial police, and three months he is being inspected.
