The next international scandal is about to errupt: the State Office of
Public Prosecutor of Kyrghyzstan causes « on conversations » the authors of
National interrogation

Employees of the State Office of Public Prosecutor of Kyrghyzstan continue
to surprise with the professionalism and breadth of functional duties. This
time operatives of the main supervising body of the country have turned the
strict look on organizers of national interrogation of Kyrghyzstan which was
carried out in October, 2006 under the order of the International republican
institute of the USA (IRI).

Workers of the State Office of Public Prosecutor, asked not to specify their
names (earlier Kambaraly Kongantiev has issued in department the circular
strictly forbidding to employees to communicate with press without his
personal control), informed "24.kg" the following.

After announcement of the results of sociological research, on
interrogations in the State Office of Public Prosecutor of the USA, and
employees of the device of prime minister of KR have been invited both
representatives of the International republican institute. The last have
caused because in mass media it was mentioned, that some questions for
national interrogation of Kyrghyzstan have been submitted in IRI at the
request of the cabinet.

The Office of Public Prosecutor was very interested: on what money did
national interrogation was carried out the government has sent the questions
and why also what exactly asked the government to include in the
questionnaire.

In IRI on the request to comment on the incident have answered shortly: «
Without comments ». In the device of the prime minister have confirmed, that
their employees caused in supervising body.

It became known about reaction of the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the USA
in KR madam Mari Jovanovich. The head of diplomatic mission has directed a
note of protest to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kyrghyzstan. In it,
it is underlined inadmissibility of rough intervention in work of IRI,
structures of the sovereign state (working, by the way, it is strict within
the framework of the intergovernmental of kyrgyz-american agreements signed
even in 1993 - the Comment "24.kg").

In foreign policy department this information was confirmed, but also left
without comments.

Remains a question opened, what interests the State Office of Public
Prosecutor in national interrogation of Kyrghyzstan? It is necessary to
emphasize, that similar actions are especially research in the field of the
sociology, to assisting authorities of this or that country correctly and in
due time to correct a rate of the internal policy.
