On January 9, 2005 on behalf of internet web site www.gazeta.kg and
other web sites and electronic mail addresses, publications called "Peoples'
Movement of Kyrgyzstan - against. Unambiguously" and "Weighty
word of deputy" and others were distributed. Publications criticized
and offended the activity of oppositionist politicians of Kyrgyzstan.
Materials, which discredited oppositionists, were distributed in English
and Russian languages through KCHR e-mail address chrights@imfiko.bishkek.su.
At present moment KCHR doesn't use this e-mail address. They found out
this address through Special Forces and ex-members of KCHR on whose
name KCHR is registered. Ex-members of KCHR received the registration
of KCHR because they cooperated with National Security Service (KGB).
The author of the web site www.gazeta.kg conducted an investigation
and found out the following.
According to the editor of the web site Ulan Melisbek, it is a first
time when someone tried to discredit an independent publication. "During
a long period, while these publications were distributed we conducted
a thorough investigation of each of it, we wrote letters to administrations
of used proxy-servers. Owing to comparative analyses of IP addresses
of sent articles and addresses of well-known organizations in Kyrgyzstan,
we found out the source of this black pr", - he said.
As a result of investigation conducted by editorial of the web site,
it was found out that electronic publications on behalf of www.gazeta.kg
as well as on behalf of Informational Agency "CenterAsia"
are coming from the private informational agency "KyrgyzInfo",
which was found under media holding, which belongs to Adil Toigonbaev
(President AKAEV's son in law). The following mass media belong to the
holding: newspaper "Vecherniy Bishkek", telecompany "KOORT",
radio "Love Radio", and advertising agency "Airek".
According to U. Melisbek, from confidential sources he found out that
the author of these publications is director of Informational Agency
"KyrgyzInfo" Turat Akimov, who before worked in state informational
agency "Kabar".
KCHR is sure that National Security Service of Kyrgyz Republic participates
in this campaign on distributing publications.
