K. Bakiev and Otunbaeva Roza have big families and they are busy with positioning them. In this relation they are not any different from Akayev…

“New generation”

Kurmanbek Bakiev appointed himself an executive president. He is a former prime minister, deputy, “has marks from the Aksy events”, when during the demonstrations under increase of professional mandates, five people died and 28 were injured. There are seven brothers in Bakiev’s family. Moreover, there are numbers of relatives. Now he is busy with positioning them. One of the brothers became a chair of the Department of Internal Affairs of Jalalabad oblast, Tashtemir Aitbaev, his in law was appointed a chair of the NSS even though there were public concerns. Under Akayev he was on the same position. Additionally, he was a minister of internal affairs and also put several opposition leaders into jail. Concerning Kulov, he directly had declared that his place is a jail. Aitbaev is considered one of privileged rich people through abuse of his professional position. Bakiev’s family presently controls Osh and Jalalabad oblasts. There they have business, comparable to the business of Aidar Akayev. Their official sphere of activities include trade of Kyrgyz cotton with western firms, selling of well-known cigarettes of “Dubek” blend to
Russian factories, industry of construction goods based on owned power. Moreover, Russian experts connect the close ones of the new “family” to the highway of drug trafficking, which goes through the south of country.

Kurmanbek Bakiev had consultations from the chair of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Igor Ivanov and chair of the Committee of Federation Council of the RF on international affairs Mihail Margelov before the conduction of revolution. Majority of activists of opposition forces in April of the last year were in Washington, in State department, where necessity of changing the Bishkek authorities was discussed.

Roza Otunbaeva, one of the supporters of Bakiev, former and present minister of foreign affairs of the KR is also busy positioning her relatives. On April 2, she brought her brother in law Chynybaev Imankalyi to a position of akim (chair of the administration) of Sokuluk region. Chynybaev I. under Akayev worked as a chair of the customs management of the KR and is one of the corrupt people.

Usen Sydykov, present chair of the presidential administration is not behind Bakiev and Otunbaeva. He brought his son as an adviser to the minister of finance. Before the revolution son of Akayev – Aidar Akayev was in this position.
