President Akayev forces his governors to conduct meetings in order to call to leave him for another term.
Another such meetings was conducted in Issyk Kul oblast. Until this moment such meetings were conducted in Osh, Jalal Abad, Batken, Naryn, Talas, Chui oblasts and in Bishkek city.
PRESIDENT ASKAR AKAYEV HAD A MEETINGS WITH ACTIVISTS OF ISSYK KOL OBLAST.
On January 29, a meeting of authorities of Issyk Kol oblast took place in a sanatorium “Kyrgyz denizi” in Cholpon Ata city and the president Askar Akayev took part in it. Head of the state talked about the social and economic development of the country and about issues of forthcoming parliamentary elections. Some participants of the meeting requested Askar Akayev to serve as a head of the state for another term.
Tokon Shailieva, governor of the oblast opened the given activity and gave a general information about the results of the year of social mobilization and just management. President Askar Akayev directed the participants of the meetings to three directions – poverty reduction, improve the infrastructure in villages, and develop tourism. According to him, strategy plans are established to reduce poverty for twice much until the year of 2010. Also, last year micro credits amounted to 3 billion soms or 250 thousand people received micro credits. 5 million dollars were allocated to the development of Tamchy international airport. Now there is a possibility to get grant from Japanese government. Until spring this airport will be functioning, stated president Askar Akayev. During the meeting, head of the state stated that forthcoming parliamentary elections will take place peacefully, with just, and fairness. He pointed that the government does not support any of the candidates:
- We should conduct the forthcoming elections according to democratic basis. As a president I request that these elections should be free, fair, and on democratic basis and especially it should be just. I request you from behalf of the government, oblast and region administrations. Today you have all opportunity to carry out these elections on democratic base and let’s conduct them without any conflicts. The government does not support any of the candidates. The government should only support to conduct free, fair and just elections. Additionally, Askar Akayev added that past political events that occurred in the country are being done by some people who want to reach the power: - There are some people who are conducting pickets and meetings. Therefore, I address you. Several people who are not satisfied by political games are organizing all these. Abylai Satylganov, chair of elderly council in Jeti oguz region, said the following to support the president and not to join those who are breaking the unity: - We all, all Kyrgyz citizens should not let the unity to break. Together with people we should explain people to stay far from bad and to keep unity of our people. Then people’s life will improve. Akjoltoi Nasirdinov, director of the sanatorium “Ak Bermet” in Cholpon Ata city directly said that we should prolong the term of Askar Akayev as a president for another five years: - Different things are being said among people. We request you to finish this reform, and even develop this reform and serve our people five more years. Tokon Shailieva closed the meetings. She said that we cannot change Askar Akayev to another person, we in Issyk Kol will conduct elections peacefully, and will not let those who are against the government close to the oblast. |
