Students of Kyrgyzstan swear: for the future of the republic let’s
free ourselves from fear and lawlessness.
On February 27, 2005, in our Motherland
– Kyrgyz Republic, very important elections to Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament)
of the country will be held. We,
students and youth of the country, are interested in having fair and
open elections – the idea, which was raised by leaders of the country
several times.
We understand, that these elections are an important moment, which
define further development of our country.
We also understand, that in the fight
of our nationals for deputy mandate, students’ and youths’ votes are
the most important, they are the decisive
element. Some deputies who understand this and their teams of support
use different methods, in order to ask or force us to vote for particular
candidates. Besides legal agitation, methods of threatening, forcing
and suppression of alternative ideas are being used. Authorities of
the country,
law enforcement bodies and election commissions, are unable to control
such situations, and take measures in order to eliminate such cases.
Considering all the mentioned above,
we swear in front of our conscience, in front of our friends, and
in front of the people of our country. We swear:
-To take an active part in parliamentarian
elections, and to make at least the most important – to come to the
according constituency and make our choice;
-To know and remember, that our choice fully depends on us, and no
one has the right and is not able to control us in our choice;
-To recall before making the choice on the bulletin, that every citizen’s
choice
– is secret, and whatever different people say, no one never will
find out, how every one of us voted;
-To understand, that marking of the finger – is the method of eliminating
the double voting, and is not a method for finding out information
about a person;
-To understand, that there aren’t any “computer database” which can
show who voted for whom;
-To refuse to participate in illegal activities in favor or against
a particular candidate;
-To call our friends and acquaintance not to be afraid, and not be
subjected to suppression, and understand by using logic and reason,
that it is possible and
it is necessary to make free choice;
-To understand that the next day after elections, each of us will
meet his/her friends, relatives and dears, and will bear the responsibility
of the choice
exactly before them, and not before the candidates;
-To forget, before making the choice, about different threats, about
particular names, fear of criminal people, who were trying to stick
us their choice; and
-To remember, before making the choice about the conscience, with
which we have to live, about friends, who are not afraid and are making
their choice, and
about your country and people, who believe in us; and
-To make the choice: to choose a candidate, who is deserving to be
in Jogorku Kenesh and represents our interests, who deserves our respect
and trust.
We swear!
