Kyrgyz captured the Supreme court

KYRGYZINFO

1/ Revolutionists are continuing to act in Kyrgyzstan. Today they captured the building of the Supreme court, they demanded the resignation of Supreme board in its full composition and stated about the crises of authority. They are sure that Supreme Court is still comprised of ex-president Askar Akayev’s
supporters. Security didn’t impede the crowd and the yellow flag was put outside, the symbol of “tulip revolution”.

Demonstrators wrote a black list, in which the first name is Kurmanbek Osmonov, chairman of Supreme court of Kyrgyzstan. On the eve he submitted request for voluntary resignation, he explained his decision by his desire not to destabilize the situation in the country. Also revolutionaries, unsatisfied
with results of parliamentary elections, are demanding to conduct new elections in six election districts.

2/ The number of people who are stating their concerns regarding the specialty policy of executive president Kurmanbek Bakiev is increasing in Kyrgyzstan. On Monday, ombudsman of the country Tursunbai Bakir uulu, made a report of his work trip to northern oblasts of the country and during meeting with journalists his pointed that residents are very concerned with the facts that Temirbek Akmataliev, former deputy chair of Akayev’s administration is again appointed by Bakiev as a chair of the Ministry of Emergency, and Tashtemir Aitbaev, also a person from former leadership of the country is appointed as a head of the National Security Services. As Tursunbai Bakir uulu says, people are not satisfied with the appointments of region administrations:

“We heard the speech of Kurmanbek Bakiev, where he said that he is not responsible for specialists in regions. But, I can for example name the akim
(administrator) of Kochkor region Mr. Baiterekov. After my visit, he came back to region and forced my representatives to leave. He declared that he bought the position for five years for four million soms, he is an owner of the region, and Kurmanbek Bakiev is ostensibly promised not to disturb him during
five years. I sent a statement to the General prosecutor’s office, also to Bakiev”.

A harsh criticism towards specialty policy of Bakiev was given by one of the leaders of opposition Kubanychbek Apas, during his interview with “German
wave”. During Akayev’s regime he was in refuge in Moscow, but presently he plans to promote his candidacy during the presidential elections.

“Previous corrupt people under Akayev’s regime are returning to the government. For example, governor Salymbekov, personally organized the wedding of Akayev’s son. He is the owner of the biggest market “Dordoi”, now became a mayor of the Bishkek city. He is a face of the Kyrgyz corruption. How Bakiev could appoint him to such position? I think, Mr. Bakiev now should direct his strength to provide stability and order in the country. People do not like staying inactive, while bandits draw the destiny”.

Kubanychbek Apas also talked about sooner making changes in the Constitution of Kyrgyzstan. On Monday, parliament of the country approved the membership of Constitutional council. 114 representatives of state institutions, public associations and political parties are included in the Constitutional council. Speaker of the Kyrgyz parliament Omurbek Tekebaev chairs the Council. Constitutional Council has to establish new text of the main law of the country before the beginning of presidential elections dated to July 10, 2005.
