Participants of the meeting in Jalalabad captured the building of the oblast state administration

Jalalabad – More than 300 people captured the three-floor building of Jalalabad oblast state administration on Friday. The governor of the Jalalabad oblast, Jusupbek Sharipov was not in the building during the capture. Staff of the state administration staying inside the building cannot leave the residence of the governor, because they are afraid of their health. Correspondent of AKIpress was near the place of event and informed about this.

Meeting in Jalalabad started on March 4, 2005, at 10:00 am. Supporters of the candidate to the deputy Jusupbek Bakiev gathered in front of the building of the oblast state administration. Participants of the meeting demand resignation of the President of KR, governor of Jalalabad oblast, his assistant, mayor of Jalalabad city, chairs of the local law enforcement bodies and demand cancellation of election results of February 27.

Majority of the meeting participants wear pink scarves and are residents of Suzak region. Brothers Jusupbek and Akmatbek Bakiev organized the meeting. There are some facts that the leader of the opposition political movement Kyrgyzstan people’s movement, Kurmanbek Bakiev and the former deputy of JK KR Bektur Assanov are in the place of events.

Participants of the meeting do not negotiate. Militia is not taking any actions yet.

At the present time about 2000 people are demonstrating in Jalalabad. They demand resignation of president Akayev, sooner presidential elections, and cancellation of election results of February 27. People in other regions are ready to support the participants of the meeting and are intending to start demonstrations. People intend to stay until they achieve resignation of Akayev. All the participants of meeting are in pink and yellow (lemon) colored scarves. Probably, a pink revolution started.

Bakiev’s supporters and other oppositionists took over the building of oblast administration in Jalal-Abad city. There are around 1500 people in the building and near it. There are as well other demonstrations throughout the oblast. Opposition also took the building of administration in Nooken rayon of Jalal-Abad oblast. Analogical activities are being prepared in other regions as well.
